2026 Best Practice Workshop

The 2026 Best Practice Workshop will be held from 11 until 13 March 2026 in Upington in the Northern Cape province under the theme: “Advancing economic benefit through digitalisation."

The Tourism Best Practice Workshop is held annually as a mechanism to implement existing bilateral agreements
between the Department and its African counterparts including those in Europe, Asia and Americas. The workshops
facilitate for information sharing on matters related to the sustainable development and growth of tourism. 

These interactive workshops focus on sharing best practices in tourism operations and provide a platform for
industry professionals to collaborate, learn, and innovate, driving sustainable growth in the tourism sector.

The 2026 workshop session will probe into the following focal areas:

·       Township and Village Tourism.
·       Destination Marketing.
·       Marketing local product and services- how is digitalisation benefiting our local communities.
·       Collaboration between Government and research institutions in South Africa
·       Crisis Management in Sustainable Tourism.
·       Presentations by Northern Cape Province.
